Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) organised inspections of foods (867 batches) and found out 17 batches unqualified. 8 food categories were involved, namely processed grain products, starch and its products, honey products, edible agricultural products, soybean products, vegetables, fruits and foods for special dietary uses.
The unqualified reasons were excessive biotoxin, microbial contamination, organic pollutant issue, residues of pesticides and veterinary drugs, heavy metal contamination, excessive use of food additives and substandard nutritional index issue.
